Review: Omnilux Light Therapy - Part 1

If you've read my eBook She Is Radiant or have been following along here for awhile, you have probably heard me speak about my looooooong battle with acne. Thankfully, those days are long behind me! I do however have quite prevalent scars that are rather annoying, to be honest. They've faded a bit over the past 5 years or so, but not as much as I would like...

So this is where Omnilux Light Therapy comes in!

So, what exactly is it?

"The OMNILUX™ is a relatively new technology based on using a narrowband of light delivered through Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). The light technology works because cells within the body contain receptors that absorb light naturally. When the body is exposed to light, these receptors absorb the light waves and kick-start a cellular response. Different wavelengths of light will stimulate different cellular responses within the cell." - Skin Deep Medi-Spa

Using a combination of red and blue lights, the Omnilux can be used to treat acne, wrinkles and fine lines, sun damage, skin inflammation and more. I personally love the concept because it's non-invasive, painless and there's no down time or side effects. Natural, non-toxic skincare is super important to me, so this kind of therapy is really appealing.

So what do I really think of Omnilux so far?

So far, I love it! I've had 4 out of 9 sessions and I can definitely tell a difference in the 'glowiness' of my skin. I've had a few people mention that my skin looks ultra healthy. I haven't noticed a huge difference yet in scarring, but that's where the BEFORE and AFTER photos will come in handy.

Speaking of... In the name of authenticity, here are my completely untouched, very close up, entirely make-up free BEFORE shots. Eek!

Phew! ;-)

I've been going to see the girls at Skin Deep Medi-Spa in Floreat for my facials and they are absolutely lovely. Each session lasts 20min under the light, with a relaxing hand and arm massage to boot. The products they use to cleanse and exfoliate your skin are divine and all natural, so all-in-all, it's a really nice half an hour of pampering.

I'll be sure to keep you updated on this adventure! Tell me in the comments, have you tried the Omnilux before?
