Guilt Free Choc-Berry Mousse

Confession time. I'm sitting with the stereotype on this one; I'm a chick and I love chocolate. I'm a full blown choc-a-holic and while my taste buds have changed (I don't really dig the overly-sugary, chemical laden stuff these days) I still crave chocolate on a daily basis. But I don't fancy being the size of a house.

Enter this guilt free chocolate mousse.

It's chocolate-y, it's creamy, you can eat it as is or use it as a thick topping for slice, crumble, chia puddings or even for breakfast. Yes, you can eat this chocolate mousse for breakfast. See picture for proof. (There is mousse hiding in there, promise!) DELISH.

Why so guilt-free? Well my darling ones, let me tell you.

There are only 5 ingredients in this mousse. All natural. All nourishing. All delicious. It takes minimal time to prepare, lasts for a couple of days in the fridge (if you don't eat it all by then) and is ultra-flexible in it's potential for experimentation, meaning you can add whatever your heart desires really...Nuts? Sure. Coconut? Absolutely. Goji berries? Get those shrivelled little red babies of fun in there!

Enough banter, more mousse-making.

You will need

1 medium ripe avocado
1/2 cup raw cacao powder
1 tbsp raw honey
2 tbsp coconut cream (full fat)
1/2 cup frozen mixed berries

What to do

In a blender or food processor, blend the avocado, cacao, honey and coconut cream on medium speed for a minute or so or until all combined and creamy-looking. Add a bit of water if you need to and more honey if you like it sweeter. Then stir through berries and pour into glasses to set in the fridge. You could also freeze this in Summer to make a yummy, nutritious ice cream. Enjoy!
